“A Burnage / West Side Story of carefree childhood, racer boys, glue and football..”

Manchester’s Deadleg are set to make an immediate impact with ‘Chinese Floats’, the incendiary new single released via Black Bleach Records on October 21st.

Ex-Molly Half Head and Wireless front man Paul Bardsley returns with his new outfit Deadleg - ‘destined for global stardom and a hit reality TV show set in a local bingo hall’. Incorporating the effusive pop sensibilities of XTC and Magazine, Deadleg blend idiosyncratic charm with confident and cultured songwriting.

Imagine Quincy Jones and Martin Hannett battling it out in two opposing control rooms; giving us hints of Northern Soul and disco beats contrasting beautifully with angular guitars, mesmeric bass lines and deep fried synth sounds. Led by Paul’s unmistakable voice and uncanny gift for a soundbite, Deadleg delivers tales of the unexpected, the bizarre unseen, and the dark sideways glance.

Signed to emerging North West imprint Black Bleach Records, the band’s debut single ‘Chinese Floats’ was recorded at The Big Red Studios, Macclesfield. Having made an impressive debut at the Shiiine Weekender last November Deadleg have been writing and recording ever since and are currently finalising material for their new album ‘Dead Legacy’ which is expected in early 2018.
