– OUT 27TH OCTOBER -

+ NOVEMBER / DECEMBER UK TOUR DATES

I’m sorry that I bit you

Bit you on the leg

I didn’t mean to hurt you

Sorry that I bit you but my daddy was a wolfman…

Son of Dave is back with his second offering from upcoming album, ‘Music For Cop Shows’.

“Daddy Was A Wolfman” is iconic writing from our favourite blues maverick, laying down a beatbox shuffle groove, then wild harmonica hooks and his usual wry wit and catchy vocals. Maybe this time there’s insight into who the daddy, Dave, is. Maybe not.

Blame it on the government

You blame on me

You blame it on the immigrant

You won’t take responsibility that your daddy was a wolfman

You can’t mistake his sound or resist the fun. It’s a punchy, stripped down, fast paced tune like many faves from previous albums which have been snapped up by fans and hit Netflix programmes alike. Echo back to “Shake A Bone”, “Goddamn”, “She Just Dance All Night”, this is Son of Dave at his usual lively best.

While the youth are served up buckets of overproduced corporate extravagance, the original hardworking Bluesman continues to grow his devoted all-ages international fan-base the hard way: town to town, album to album, with no signs of slowing down. Well, there are some physical signs…

Your teeth a looking shiny

You’re wearing black and white

Your momma was a vampire

She’s out vamping all night

The upcoming album, ‘Music For Cop Shows‘ is Son of Dave’s 8th album, to be supported by full UK tour followed by other European and North American touring. The album loosely ties ten new songs together as an imagined 1970′s cop show soundtrack.  Several of Son of Dave’s tunes have already been placed in modern crime shows such as Preacher, Breaking Bad, and Bloodline, which appears to have been an inspiration for the album title. There’s no shortage of cryptic humour as usual.

The video (directed/edited by Luke Parry) follows a recent theme of using old b-movie public domain footage mixed with animations from Steven Plunkett who’s captured the character in a half Mad Magazine, half Ralph Steadman kind of way. Just his own style really, but it helps some people to hear names.

Daddy Was A Wolfman (Full Lyrics)

I’m sorry that I bit you

Bit you on the leg

I didn’t mean to hurt you

Sorry that I bit you but my daddy was a wolfman

I’m sorry for the howling

Howling in the night

I didn’t wanna wake you

I’m sorry for the howling but my daddy was a wolfman

Your teeth a looking shiny

You’re wearing black and white

Your momma was a vampire

She’s out vamping all night

Blame it on the government

You blame on me

You blame it on the immigrant

You won’t take responsibility that your daddy was a wolfman

Your teeth are looking shiny

You’re dressed in black and white

Your momma was a vampire

She’s out hunting all night

inst

You’re teeth are looking pointy now

You can’t resist a fight, can ya?

You’re momma was a vampire

She’s out — – — (unintelligible)
