Band to Support Record with 50+ City Tour in the US and UK

ATLANTA, GA – Atlanta rock band The Head officially released its new full length album Space on Aug. 4, available on iTunes, Spotify, with vinyl and CDs for sale at shows and via the band’s website (www.theheadmusic.com). The band is currently on tour for a 50+ city tour that includes The Head’s first stops on the west coast of the US and 14 cities in the United Kingdom.

Brothers Mike Shaw (bass, vocals) and Jack Shaw (drums) and Jacob Morrell (guitars) have been jamming together since high school, writing and performing original songs inspired by the bands they love: trippy Brits like Stone Roses, Spiritualized, Ride, The Verve and Echo and the Bunnymen, and moody Americans like The National, Scott Walker and early R.E.M.

After logging more than 200 nights on the road, The Head returned home to Atlanta to record with producers Tanner Hendon & Wyatt Oates at Madison Studios in a room anchored by an SSL board that previously recorded albums by Matthew Sweet, Bruce Springsteen and Pearl Jam when it lived at the old Southern Tracks studio.

“We wanted young and hungry producers who aligned with our vision, guys we could gel with on a personal level. We found that in Tanner and Wyatt,” Jack says.

The result is Space, their forthcoming 13-song LP that defines The Head’s lush sound and defies lo-fi expectations.
