Fusing pulverising sonics and sensory-tripping visuals, The Vryll Society have a well-established reputation for a phenomenal live performance. Promising something special for their final dates of the year, here the Vrylls offer a glimpse into what to expect from their upcoming run this October:
“Looking forward to this one now the album is out. The set has been carefully crafted to capture the listener and lead them on an audio /visual journey of rhythm and sound and leaving them in a blissful trance like state. We all love going on tour. and we’ve been working hard to make this show the best we can and we can’t wait to perform it.” – The Vrylls
Released through the iconic Deltasonic label at the height of Summer 2018, the response to The Vryll Society’s debut album ‘Course of The Satellite’ has already been nothing short of radiant. With MOJO praising the band’s uniquely “shimmery psych guitar, spacey grooves and indie falsetto vocals” and PROG Magazine hailing the “beautifully produced, woozy tunes topped by Mike Ellis’s blissful tones”, it is perhaps SOUNDBLAB who hit the nail on the head in their observation that ‘Course of The Satellite’ is a record meticulously crafted by: “five guys from Liverpool who are obviously operating at the top of their game.”
Discovered and nurtured by the late and much missed Deltasonic founder Alan Wills, The Vryll Society are a quintet from Liverpool. With a uniquely absorbing and refreshing new-psych sound, the band draw on an eclectic palette of influences from deep funk to Krautrock, electronica and prog to create shimmering, kaleidoscopic soundscapes entirely their own.
With a formidable reputation for spectacular AV live shows, The Vryll Society have earned a dedicated fanbase from years of dedicated touring and demand for the band has seen them venture extensively across the continent as well as feature prominently at major festivals including SXSW in Texas, Glastonbury and Reading+Leeds and beyond.
Taking time out of their hectic touring schedule, the quintet returned home earlier this year to lay down what would become their debut album. As recorded in the sanctum of Liverpool’s legendary Parr Street Studios with producers Joe Fearon and Tom Longworth, The Vryll Society dropped their debut album ‘Course Of The Satellite’ to widespread critical acclaim in August 2018.
The Vryll Society now set their sights on one last show-stopping tour this Autumn, before gazing on to brave new horizons awaiting in 2019…. Watch this space.
