VAMPIRE WEEKEND

BRAND NEW ALBUM ‚ÄėFATHER OF THE BRIDE‚Äô ‚Äď OUT NOW¬†

VIA COLUMBIA RECORDS

UK TOUR NOVEMBER 2019

Vampire Weekend have today released their fourth album, Father of the Bride, out May 3rd on Columbia Records. The album release comes off the back of singles This Life and Harmony Hall and features the likes of Steve Lacey from The Internet and Danielle Haim.

Father of the Bride¬†closes a six-year gap since 2013‚Äôs¬†Modern Vampires of the City‚ÄĒa period during which the band’s¬†Ezra Koenig¬†was anything but idle: In addition to touring the world and winning a Best Alternative GRAMMY for¬†Modern Vampires‚Ķ, Koenig released his Netflix anime series¬†Neo Yokio, continued to host his¬†Time Crisis¬†show on Beats1, co-wrote and produced¬†Beyonce‚Äôs ‚ÄúHold Up”‚Ķ¬†all the while living the experiences and observations that would inform the next Vampire Weekend album.

Father of the Bride‚Äôs¬†title is something Koenig chose years back, well before recent significant developments in his life. In typical VW fashion, the title has multiple layers of meaning, expressing the band‚Äôs signature paradox: creating songs that easily find a home on any playlist‚ÄĒor car radio, TV show, film soundtrack, airport PA, etc. ‚ÄĒ but reveal their complexities upon closer listening.

Vampire Weekend will soon embark on their most ambitious tour ever as the band continues to sell out arenas and amphitheaters around the world. Check back as additional seats are being made available to accommodate fans. These shows will include UK appearances at the Glastonbury Festival ahead of their recently-announced November 2019 UK and European tour.

The November tour, which starts on Thursday 7th November in Edinburgh will feature shows in the UK, France, Belgium and the Netherlands including a 10,000 capacity event at London’s Alexandra Palace on Wednesday 13th November.
