+ GLOBAL TOUR, WITH UK DATES THIS SUMMER

PJ Harvey and actor Ruth Wilson have collaborated on a new video for Harvey’s latest single, “Seem an I”, created by Oscar-nominated Irish screenwriter and director, Colm Bairéad.

The video was shot at Kennel Farm outside Salisbury, Wiltshire. Watch the video here

On working with Ruth Wilson and Colm Bairéad, PJ Harvey says:

“Ruth and I became friends after working together on Clio Barnard’s film ‘Dark River’. I have always greatly admired Ruth’s work as an actor, so had long harboured a dream that we might work together again in some way. When the opportunity to work with Colm Bairéad came up I knew him to be a director Ruth thought highly of, as I did, so it felt right to ask her if she would star in the film. I find the resulting short film beautiful and moving for having Ruth’s magical presence, and Colm’s unique vision.”
Ruth Wilson adds:“I have always been a huge fan of PJ, so it was a great privilege to work alongside Colm and Polly to bring “Seem an I” to visual life in this mysterious and hypnotic short film. There is no better way to spend a day in the magical world of PJ Harvey. “

To coincide with the new video’s launch, PJ Harvey announces a forthcoming tour of North America this autumn, her first there in seven years. This 16-date run follows a summer of festival appearances throughout the UK and Europe, including her headline show at Gunnersbury Park in London on 18th August.

The North American tour commences on the 11th September at The Anthem in Washington DC and concludes at The Greek Theatre in LA on 14th October. All live dates are listed below and here, with tickets on sale from Friday 1st March. She will be joined on stage by her bandmates John Parish, Jean-Marc Butty, Giovanni Ferrario, and James Johnston.

The tour incorporates a full live run-through of the Grammy-nominated tenth studio album ‘I Inside the Old Year Dying’ (co-produced by John Parish and Flood), as well as songs from Harvey’s extensive back-catalogue. To develop the live show, Harvey worked with the theatre director Ian Rickson, set designer Rae Smith, lighting designers Paule Constable and Louisa Smurthwaite, and fashion designer Todd Lynn.
