Today, THE K’S reveal the new single “Black And Blue”, ahead of their highly anticipated debut album ‘I Wonder If The World Knows’, out 5th April via LAB Records.
The news arrives as the Earlestown band also confirm a stretch of intimate in-store shows at independent record shops across the nation in the run up to the album’s release – the full list of which can be found below.

“Black And Blue” chronicles the story with its direct lyrics and upbeat melody and was written by Boyle with Ryan Breslin adding his signature lead guitar prowess throughout.
Speaking of the track, singer Jamie Boyle explains:
“Black And Blue tells a story that is all too familiar for people growing up in working class towns. What feels like an innocent attempt of trying your luck with a girl, quickly spirals into one of the local hard men listing pages and pages of ways he’s going to mutilate you. Despite this, many will still try their luck as a black eye or two feels like a small price to pay.”
The Earlestown based four-piece are gearing up for an exciting year ahead. Celebrating the upcoming album, the band have announced a run of intimate, acoustic shows and signings in March. They will then head out on an almost sold-out UK headline tour in April, taking on some of the most sizable venues of their career including Manchester’s O2 Victoria Warehouse and London’s Electric Ballroom. The K’s have also confirmed slots at some of the UK’s biggest festivals including the main stage at Reading and Leeds, Isle of Wight Festival, Camp Bestival and Kendal Calling, as well as many appearances across some of the largest festivals in Europe. The band were recently nominated for Breakthrough Act Of The Year at the Nordoff & Robbins Northern Music Awards, where they will also be performing at the awards on the 23rd April in Manchester.
The K’s hugely anticipated debut album ‘I Wonder If The World Knows’ has already received thousands of pre-orders and will be available on Vinyl, Cassette, CD and all digital platforms. Speaking about the upcoming release, Jamie says:
“The long wait is nearly over, and we are finally on the brink of releasing our debut album. I Wonder If The World Knows is a written journey throughout the last couple of years of our lives throughout the ups, the downs and everything in between. We’ve put our heart and soul into making the perfect record and we can’t wait for you to hear it.”
As well as selling out multiple dates over the UK including selling every ticket for their Manchester Academy show in under 24 hours, they have also previously opened the main stages at Isle of Wight and Neighbourhood Festivals, as well as gracing the main stages at Leeds, Reading & Kendal Calling, and tore the roof down at last year’s Tramlines, with hundreds unable to get into the big top to see them play. They’ve supported Liam Gallagher, James and Blondie. Their debut single “Sarajevo” notched up over 5.1 million streams, and their recent single “Hoping Maybe” became a phone-lights-on live anthem that reached number 2 on the iTunes chart, kept off the top spot only by Miley Cyrus’ record breaking single “Flowers”.
